I know this is old news to many of you, but I'm going to write about it anyways.
A little over a month ago I packed up my family and moved them from where we were living in South Beaverton out to Hillsboro. Let me rephrase that, we moved way out, just barely still in Hillsboro. Luckily I'm still really close to the MAX Blue Line. When we were looking at this house I noticed a MAX stop which was close by and also had a park-and-ride. I was curious as to how close we were to the end of the line. I knew I was a couple stops down the road from Willow Creek, and I was really curious if I now lived as far out as my friend Justin. Heh, ignorance is bliss. The Tuesday after Memorial Day was my first day riding the MAX into work from our new place. The night before I checked online to see how early I would need to get up. Little did I know, the MAX stop right next to our house is Hatfield Government Center, the very end of the line.
Now what is really interesting is my drive into work is only about 6 miles longer from this new place compared to where we were living before. If I drive to work in the mornings, then my commute is actually less time (because I am so close to 26 and don't have to fight downtown Beaverton and 217). If I ride the MAX, then my commute gets lengthened only by about 10 minutes (because it took so long to get through Beaverton up to Millikan Way where I would get on the MAX). However, I think I prefer to ride the MAX from Hatfield Government Center. There is always a MAX there waiting, and I always get a seat. Mind you, I don't get just any seat, I get any seat that I want. Hey, I trying to see the positives here, cut me some slack, eh?
BTW, isn't it freaking amazing that all the TriMet stops are listed on wikipedia?
