I've listened to this argument for as long as I can remember, on why NCAA football needs a playoff system. I've tried being a part of that conversation. Frankly, I just don't care anymore. My true love is college basketball and the Final Four tournament (which comes to Portland in 2009!!!). Now, with this said, I came across this article on ESPN news where Michael Adams, chairman of the NCAA executive committee has finally had a change of heart and voiced his desire for the playoff system to finally come to fruition. All I can say is it's about time, however I'm not getting my hopes up. Too many schools/conferences have too much to lose, that being primarily their monopoly on TV monies and an unfair claim to the national championship title. The BCS is evil, as are the poster children of the BCS who keep getting into top bowl games when they actually don't deserve to be there (e.g. Ohio State and Oklahoma).
