Slides from the Seattle Code Camp

I told everyone during the presentation that I'd have the slides and code available that night. Here are the slides from the presentation I gave at the Seattle Code Camp last weekend. I'm still cleaning up the code examples and hope to have that posted sometime tomorrow. Alas, it seems I have been found guilty of misleading the public and only partially delivering on what was promised. Heh, I should run for public office.

I want to say thanks to everyone who attended the presentation. I had originally prepared this presentation back in October/November last year when the code camp was originaly scheduled for mid-November. As you all know, the dates shifted and code camp wasn't held until the end of January. I believe the shifting of the dates worked out for the best with most everyone. Unfortunately, the amount of information I now wanted to cover expanded in not a small amount. Just take a look at the number of slides on the deck to see what I mean. Frankly, that shouldn't be a problem. The reason why it is a problem is because I only added new thoughts and material, I didn't take anything away or refactor what was already there. For that I apologize.

I'm also presenting at the Boise Code Camp which is going to be held right after MIX. I was originally planning on giving this same presentation there as well, but I'm not too sure about that right now. I think I'd like to keep the topic relatively the same, discussing uses for Silverlight 1.0 and what approach I recommend when trying to ramp up on Silverlight. However, I'm going to spend less time viewing existing Silverlight applications where I would try to get people's creative juices flowing. Instead, I'll be building a few smaller examples (or one medium example) on the fly. I'll still include links to those existing applications and recommend that folks go see what is being done in the professional creative space. This will help them get ideas of what is possible with Silverlight. I just don't need to go over that during the presentation. Yeah, the more I think about it the more that definitely sounds like the way to go.
