Update 2/28/2008 (10:28pm): I've posted a follow-up article on getting this gadget to run under UAC.
Download the latest version.
Jesse Liberty has a great blog. If you're interested in Silverlight, you need to be reading this blog. On his blog he has a category called Tip of the Day. There he provides short, useful tips about all things Silverlight. It's very cool.
A little over a month ago Jesse suggested that someone should create a Vista gadget for his entries (see examples). I don't know if he was serious or not, but I went ahead and created one. If you look closely at the code you'll notice that I basically just reskinned the very useful Visual Studio 2008 Tip of the Day gadget. In order to install this on your machine, just unzip this file to the following folder on your machine (C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\). Please let me know if you have any problems or issues. For more information on creating gadgets for Vista, please refer to this article.
Update 2/4/2008 5:18pm: I've updated the gadget so now there is a setting to change how frequently the RSS feed should be checked for updates, as well as updating links to point to http://silverlight.net/ instead of the Silverlight site on MSDN.
